VICE President   Mohammed Namadi Sambo has directed ministries of Power and Finance to settle outstanding subsidies in the power sector and monetisation claims of the workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).



The Ministry of Finance has been directed to release about N5.4 billion power subsidy that remained unpaid since last year. 

Sambo said this is aimed at allowing for smooth privatisation of the company.

At least, two people were feared dead, while three others were critically injured yesterday when a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally went bloody in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
