Fashola insists LASU students must pay new fees

LAGOS State Governor Babatunde Fashola said yesterday that there was no going back on the recent increment in tuition fee at the Lagos State University(LASU), stressing that the hike does not cover personnel cost in the ivory tower.

Fashola, who spoke at the Seventh Executive and Legislative Parley in Lagos, at the weekend, said the Executive Council carefully considered the current state of infrastructure and personnel in the institution  vis-a-vis what it should be before jacking up the fee.

"We also considered the cost of properly funding the institution as against what currently accrue to it from all sources.
