JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain and repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment onboard the rig.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•        Demonstrate commitment to Company safety policies through leadership and guidance.Authority I

•        Ensure regulatory requirements for environmental protection are complied with.Authority I

•        Actively participate in weekly safety meetings and pre job meetings as required.Authority I

•        Report any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations to supervisor and other department heads.

•        Authority I

•        Assist in preparing Job Safety Analysis for hazardous situations. Authority II

•        Ensure a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig.Authority I

•        Assist in reviewing and updating the current safety case in consultation with rig and shore-based management.Authority III

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations/Maintenance:

•         Perform daily inspections and maintenance on mechanical equipment. Authority I

•         Organize and promote the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS). Authority I

•        Carry out periodic maintenance according to the PMS guidelines and coordinate same with supervisors and other department heads.Authority II

•        Maintain and repair power plants and monitor power distribution – ensure power is available at all times.Authority I

•        Operate, maintain and repair as necessary the engine cooling water system, lube oil system, and fuel system.Authority I

Education:

•        High school diploma or equivalent. Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education.

•        Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.

•        Knowledge of technical calculations required for safe operation of the drilling unit and basic computer skills.
