The successful candidate will under the supervision of the Finance/ Accounts Specialist, carry out the following responsibilities:

1. Responsible for entering into Vision all IR; makes inputs when activities are ready for requisitioning; raises requisitions and drafts obligations, including preparation of cost estimates.

2. Responsible for the management of Support Budget, and Cross Sectoral Programme by first creating subprojects, and activities in Vision Intermediate Results (IR) and later updating whenever there is a change.

3. Perform Bank Reconciliations as necessary.

4. Prepares routine correspondence and maintains personal and telephone contacts with others to discuss matters concerning budgets and related assignments

5. Review budget expenditure by codes against approved allotments, and verify compliance with reports received from Headquarters; monitor budget expenditure against approved budget allotments, preparation of periodic budget reports and reconciliation of expenditure with HQ computer printout.

6. Backstops for other staff members in Finance Section who are responsible for processing payments during peak periods.

7. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum qualificationand competencies:

• Completion of secondary education.

• Five (5) years progressive work experience in Finance and accounting which includes aspects of Budgeting.

• Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of one or two working languages of the organization an asset.

• Good judgment, organization, analytical and accuracy skills.

• Integrity, honesty and high sense of responsibility

• Good knowledge of computer applications, accounting softwares and database management.

• Good communication and interpersonal and team work skills

• Knowledge of UNICEF procedures/policies an added advantage

• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in an international and multicultural environment.

• Initiative, passion and commitment to UNICEF's mission and professional values.
