The Minister of sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi has assured the Nigeria Premier League of a new lease of life in the sponsorship logjam that had lingered for some time now.

Speaking in Lagos recently, Bolaji said that Telecommunication giants, Globacom 'll soon withdraw the case it instituted against Nigeria premier league and Total promotion to allow the league to breathe.

He said he had meetings with the warring parties in the sponsorship crisis and hopes that the agreement reached will be obeyed to the latter by all parties involved.

" The League will soon experience financial boost by the title sponsors, Total promotions because, Globacom has been advised to withdraw their case against the Nigeria Premier League and Total Promotion.

I had a meeting with all the parties involved in the logjam after going through the process that threw up Total promotions as Title sponsor.

I told the representatives of Globacom to withdraw their case so that that money could be paid by the title sponsor because there is no way the could win the case and I believe they as a responsible corporate entity will reciprocate.

The process was transparent and all the people involved at naming Total promotion did a thorough job.

This crisis is giving the league a bad image and I will not fold my hands and watch what has been built by those who loved our football in this country destroyed.

So, Nigerians should be rest assured on a new lease of life for Nigeria premier league and football in general.
