UN demands Mali coup leaders return to barracks

United Nations - The UN Security Council on Thursday called on Mali coup leaders to order their forces back to barracks and carry out the "immediate  restoration of constitutional rule."

Following a meeting on the latest crisis in West Africa, the Security Council said in a statement the coup leaders had to "ensure the safety and security of President Amadou Toumani Toure" and release all detained officials. - Sapa-AFP
