Mile One Mkt ready in three weeks – Amaechi

PORT HARCOURT— RIVERS State Government has assured that the Mile One Market in Port Harcourt will be completed in the next three weeks and stores allocated to traders.

Fielding questions from newsmen at Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, said the government had released all the fund for the job.

It will be recalled that when the market project started in 2007, traders were relocated to a temporary site. Governor Amaechi had to call his Commissioner for Works to say when the market would be delivered.

The governor said the government was set to lay the foundation stone for the new site of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Omagwa.

He added that the government had completed 120 out of the 160 health centres it promised the state.
