Afghan migrants rescued at sea

The coastguard has rescued 120 Afghan migrants from a leaking wooden ship headed to Australia.

The National Search and Rescue Agency picked them up and took them to Java island on a tanker after receiving a distress call from the ship's captain on Sunday.

Police were negotiating with the migrants who were refusing to leave the tanker on Monday.

Migrants without legal documents are usually deported home.
