TRADITIONAL rulers from Edo Central senatorial district of Edo State, yesterday, conferred the chieftaincy title of Adolo of Esan land on Governor Adams Oshiomhole and reaffirmed their support for his re-election.

A delegation made up of 23 of the 25 traditional rulers in Esan land, who paid a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House to confer the chieftaincy title on him, described the purported endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Gen.Charles Airhiavbere, as a ruse.

According to the leader of the delegation, the Onojie of Opoji, His Royal Highness, Eidenojie Ehidiame, the traditional rulers decided to offer  Oshiomhole the chieftaincy title because of his developmental strides across the state and Esan land in particular. Oshiomhole, in his response, said he was overwhelmed and humbled by the decision of the traditional rulers to reaffirm his candidature in seeking re-election and the decision to confer on him the chieftaincy title.

Meanwhile, a delegation of over 70 youth groups for Oshiomhole 2012 re-election stormed Edo State Government House, saying their interest in the July 14 election was to ensure Governor Adams Oshiomhole is re-elected to complete the on-going developmental projects he had embarked upon in the 18 local government areas of the state.
