No fewer than 30 ex-militants yesterday blocked a part of the busy Ilorin-Kabba highway, Kwara State.

The ex-militants are on training at the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) located on the road.

They arrived at the centre two days ago as part of the post-amnesty programme.

They claim to be protesting poor treatment and non- payment of their allowances.

One of the militants simply identified as 'The Bull' said their action was to warn the authorities to accord their welfare priority.

He urged the authorities to, without delay, pay all their allowances and benefits.

It was gathered that the militants wanted the management of NCAM to lodge them in a five-star hotel and not in the premises of the centre, which is about 15 kilometres from Ilorin, the state capital.

When contacted, the acting Executive Director of NCAM, Dr. Ikechukwu Azogu condemned the action, describing it as unfortunate and premature.
