Role Summary/Purpose:   

As a member of the GE Africa Human Resources team and reporting into the Learning and Development Leader for GE Africa, the Learning and Development Manager will provide strategic leadership and expertise for Learning and Development throughout Western Africa.

Essential Responsibilities:   

Lead technical training, localization mandated training and drive customer training initiatives. This will involve training needs identification, content design, development delivery, training tracking, reporting and vendor relationships – For technical training, understudies, customers and localization mandated training initiatives. Perform administrative duties and logistics associated with program delivery. This include preparation of pre-course and classroom materials and presentations, liaison for venues regarding accommodation requirements, catering, teaching supplies, invoicing etc., liaising with technical support / facilities (both internal and external) to obtain equipment as needed, ensuring that course materials are reproduced and delivered to the venue prior to the start of courses and arranging for settlement of course related invoices. Learn and utilize learning management systems to create courses, register training nominations, edit employee records and monitor course utilization. Development and tracking of training budget for the SSA region.

Computer Proficiency Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Strong organizational skills. Experience in the use of learning management systems Report writing skills Previous training, training administration or facilitation experience.
