Barbaric: Man kills 8-day-old step daughter for rituals in Delta.

An eight-day-old baby girl, was, weekend, allegedly killed by her step father for ritual purposes. The gory incident took place in Jesse, Delta State.

Already, the suspect, who confessed that he carried out  the act on the orders of a spiritualist in Ghana, is currently in police custody.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the development in a statement, yesterday, in Asaba, said: "One Mrs. Gladys Emafuru, female, of Okunu village Jesse, reported that at 15:10 hours, while sleeping with her eight-day- old baby girl, the child's step father (names withheld) 24 years old, walked into the apartment and killed the baby with a cutlass, opened the stomach and collected the intestines and other vital parts."

Muka  added that "the suspect after collecting the vital parts of the baby, concealed them in a black cellophane bag and was about escaping to Ghana when he was caught. He has confessed committing the act, saying that it was demanded for in Ghana."
