Job Description:

General Manager – International (Telecommunications product manufacturing) firm  – (Lagos  – Nigeria)  – $280,000.00 USD + 35% performance-related bonus  – This is an opportunity for an accomplished General Manager with Telecommunications Product Manufacturing experience to manage an established Telecommunications  Manufacturing firm.

Our client is an established international company which is renowned for niche product development. The company is one of the most innovative and ground breaking firms within the industry and has been established internationally for many years. They are looking for a competent professional with extensive general management and operations experience and a good mix of systems and people skills to manage the operations of their facility in the designated location, which has several hundred employees. The position will require occasional travel to other international facilities but apart from this the candidate will be permanently based in the location listed above. This is a core vacancy and as such the salary offered is calculated under the Senior Management code. This position also includes a first rate healthcare, pension and a possible share options package.

The candidate will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the regional operations facility, incorporating several hundred employees. They will be directly responsible to the Chief Operations Officer and will be involved at senior management level with other departmental officers who are responsible for manufacturing, production, engineering, procurement, supply-chain management, quality control, line management and product development. The successful General Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing various projects relating to business process improvement and business process re-engineering.

Desired Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have a business operations, engineering, or administration related degree and will preferably also have business operations, engineering, or administration related professional qualifications. They will also have extensive experience within the specified industry and be an experienced executive at this level. Our client is looking for a candidate who is methodical in their approach with a multi-cultural background and great leadership ability. You should also be able to demonstrate a progressive track record of success within your career and have a sound commercial business understanding. Other useful skills would be experiences relating to health and safety, quality management and employment law.
