The Zaragoza Logistics Center Scholarship currently provides a number of scholarships each year
for students of the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management
(ZLOG) program.

The Zaragoza Logistics Center and the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program award will
one scholarship in the academic year 2011-2012 for one qualified candidate from Africa who can
show an extraordinary potential for leadership and professional success within the area of Supply
Chain Management.

Through this scholarship, the Foundation hopes to attract outstanding future leaders who can
make a vital contribution to filling the capacity gap in Africa for well-trained supply chain and
logistics professionals.

Coverage

The scholarship covers full tuition for the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics &
Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program, which amounts to €21,500 for the academic year
2010-2011.

The scholarship will not include other costs such as the administrative fee, living or travel
expenses to Zaragoza or to Boston for the international exchange.

Eligibility

Scholarships are awarded only to students who have been admitted to the MITZaragoza
Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG)
program through the Foundation's regular admissions procedure

The applicants should display exceptional academic achievement and distinctive personal
accomplishment in addition to an interest in pursuing a career in SCM and logistics. To be eligible
you must comply with the following criteria:
 Granted admission to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain
Management (ZLOG) program.
 Fluency in English, competitive TOEFL score - exceptions may be granted to individuals
who have demonstrated evidence of advanced verbal and written proficiency in the English
language. Furthermore, the ability to speak French is a plus.
 Completion of a four year undergraduate program equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
 Professional excellence with a background or experience in supply chain
management/logistics, or exceptional academic achievement.

Application Process and Documents

Candidates must fulfil all of the above-mentioned requirements and submit one original copy by email of the following documents to the ZLC Financial Aid Office:
1. Application form
Each scholarship applicant will fill out the scholarship application form including the following: an
essay stating their interests, qualifications, and related experience; a statement describing their
economical situation and explaining their reasons for applying for the scholarship.
2. Income Statement
Copy of the current employment contact, the most recent pay slip or other official document that
can account for the last salary received. (Not applicable for applicants who are currently full-time
students).
3. Copy of Passport
4. Admissions Letter
Copy of the admissions letter to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply
Chain Management (ZLOG) program.

Deadline

The deadline for application is April 15th 2011. Early application is however encouraged. All
supporting documentation to the application must be postmarked by the respective date listed
above.

Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.

Selection criteria and process

Competition for the ZLOG scholarships is intense and highly competitive. The candidates will be
chosen on the basis of:
 Open to all admitted students who are African nationals.
 Preference will be given to candidates with background or experience in supply chain
management /logistics. (25%)
 Financial need (25%)
 Ability to make a significant contribution to the discipline of supply chain management and
logistics, with a strong aptitude for analysis and a creative approach to defining and solving
problems. (15%)
 Recognition of the importance of personal integrity and ethical decision making. (5%)
 Enthusiastic pursuit of self-improvement and a desire to be at the forefront in the creation
and discovery of new knowledge. (10%)
 Experience and interest in working in multicultural teams. (10%)
 Academic merit as according to academic records (10%)

Applicants will be notified by e-mail of the outcome and furthermore the scholarship holder will
receive an award letter.
