Description:

The Capacity Building Specialist is responsible for coordinating all training activities for the project focusing on improving State and LGEA level delivery of in service training and on -going professional development in the area of early grade reading.  The teacher training specialist will work closely with the reading and literacy specialist to oversee and coordinate all materials development for teachers and learners.  S/he will collaborate closely with government departments, agencies and institutions in order to build capacity of Federal, State and LGEA experts to play distinct and well organized roles in supporting the improvement of teaching of reading at the school level.

Minimum Requirements:

•   At least 10 years of experience in working on USAID or other donor funded education projects to provide effective training, technical assistance, coaching and mentoring of teachers and school principals.

•   Demonstrated a good understanding of  current developments in the teacher education  and training  policies and practices as they relate to reading

•   Masters' degree in education, teaching, training and capacity building experience.

•   Documented  technical  skills and experience in  developing   effective training workshop design and technical assistance delivery;

•   At least five plus years' experience in Government and civil society capacity building activities;

•   Demonstrated effectiveness in writing, presentation and communications skills;

•   Demonstrate strong computing skills in word, excel and power-point
