The Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, and the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Mr. Aremu Adeniran, have denied reports of violence during the governorship election held on Saturday.
Both men, in separate interviews with our correspondent also denied the arrest of two commissioners in the state, Messrs Remi Olatubora and Niran Sule at Irele and Owo respectively by security operatives.
Akinmade, who spoke at Idanre, said there was no iota of truth in the rumour which he claimed were being spread by the opposition parties.
He said, "It is the antics of the opposition parties. They had earlier gone to town with false alarm that the security operatives had arrested 15 men with thumb-printed ballot papers in the residence of an Afenifere chieftain.
"They also spread a wicked rumour against the Deputy Governor that the Baba had resigned from Mimiko's government. All these are the cheap propaganda of the opposition to discredit the most credible election in Nigeria, in recent time.
"There is no form of violence. Everywhere is peaceful. The only organ that can confirm arrest is the police, not a political party," he added
The PPRO on his part denied the arrest of the commissioners and a local government council boss.
He said, "I had contacted the CP, Owo Area commander and the DPO Owo who all denied the report. Your people (journalists) have been calling me on the matter but my boss the CP, Owo Area Commander and the DPO Owo had all denied it when I called them.
"The implication of this is that the arrest, if any, was not carried out by the police and we are not aware of such incident," the PPRO added.
Meanwhile, Akeredolu who voted around 12:50pm, expressed concern about security development in Idanre and Owo towns.
He said,  "We are calling on security agents to do something about the areas because we were told voters had been scared away in most of the 67 farms at Idanre.
He insisted that soldiers arrested the state commissioner for Special duties and a seniorpolitical officer holder in the LP government.
