Xiaomi has scheduled an event for later today where it will launch new Redmi Note 9 smartphones.
Xiaomi could launch as many as three smartphones today, and a Redmi smartwatch as well. Based on leaks and rumours; Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 9 5G are expected to be unveiled at today’s event.
The new Redmi Note 9 smartphones will come with upgraded specifications and features over the ones launched earlier this year.
Xiaomi already sells Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 in India.
There’s no confirmation yet on whether the new smartphones will launch in India.
Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has been teasing the upcoming phones revealing the design and colour.
Based on the teaser image, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has a circular camera module with four rear cameras; and a gradient finish. The smartphone also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The new Redmi Note 9 phones are also said to come with an “advanced” camera setup.
According to leaks, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G could run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The smartphone is also said to house a 108-megapixel rear camera, and a 16-megapixel front camera.
Redmi Note 9 5G is rumoured to feature a 6.53-inch full HD+ display, and it could be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U processor.
It is expected to launch in three storage options of 4GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
Redmi Note 9 5G is also expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery, a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel selfie camera.
