Achievers University 2012/2013 Admissions General Requirements, Admissions Process, and Screening Exercise

A. UTME CANDIDATES

Candidates applying to AchieversUniversity for admissions are required to have sat for the current Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). They must also obtain a minimum of five (5) credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC (SSCE)/ NECO (SSCE). These should include English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects
relevant to the course of study.

B. DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES

As for above, but with 2 or 3 subjects at A Level or HSC or ND or NCE or ATS results in relevant discipline. Candidates are also expected to have purchased the Direct Entry JAMB form.

C. LINKAGE PROGRAMME

Candidates for this Programme should be holders of HND in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Accountancy ACA, ACIB, ACIS, ACIN and ACIT with five (5) credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC (SSCE)/ NECO (SSCE).

These should include English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects relevant to
the course of study.

PLEASE NOTE: In addition, all candidates are expected to purchase Achievers University admissions forms and participate in a screening exercise.

DURATION OF PROGRAMMES

The Degree programmes listed above shall run for a duration of 4 or 5 years for UTME candidates, 3 or 4 years for Direct Entry candidates and 2 years for the Linkage Programme.

FOUNDATION PROGRAMME

The programme is for candidates who are deficient in not more than two required subjects for their degree programme of choice. However, they must have obtained a minimum of five (5) credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC (SSCE)/NECO (SSCE). All candidates must pass UTME at the point of transition to 100 level.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Applicants who did not make Achievers University their first or second choice in their JAMB UTME and Direct Entry forms can process admissions either:
a. Online by submitting your application through the university website (Achievers University Post-UTME Online Application Portal)

b. Obtain the admissions form at a cost of N5,500 from:
• Registrar's Office, Achievers University, Owo(0803-370-8660, 0803-374-6527).
• Achievers High School, 4, Oshuntokun Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan (0803-137-5724).
• Achievers University Liaison Office, 4, Ayo Akintoba Street, Agbowo U.I, Ibadan. (0806-044-1164).
• BRATIM Office, Ground Floor, National Library Building, Behind NICON Insurance Plaza, Central Building District, Abuja(0803-040-8384).

c. Applicants may also utilize the form attached to this prospectus.
• Fill the form legibly by supplying all the information requested for.
• Pay the application fee to any of our offices above or any of the following banks:

Applicants should enclose photocopies of birth certificate or declaration of age, WAEC
(SSCE), NECO (SSCE) and UTME results, four passport photographs, and receipt/teller of N5, 500.

SCREENING EXERCISE

Candidates who make Achievers University their first or second choice in their UTME and Direct Entry forms should attend the screening exercisewith N1,000 screening fee..

Screening of all candidates will hold at the Permanent Site of the University, Km 1,Idasen-Ute Road, Owo on the following days:
• 1st Screening - Saturday, 23rd June, 2012
• 2nd Screening – Saturday, 21st July, 2012
• 3rd Screening – Saturday, 18th August, 2012
