Responsibilities:

•   Strong understanding of the impact of geo-information in SCiN management of,and performance in, Health, Safety, Security & Environment & Social Performance (HSSE & SP). Detailed knowledge of how geo-information or geodetic error can represent safety or environmental risk, and/or reputation exposure. Participate in and lead HSSE-focused activities as requested, and provide data, workflows and map products intended to be used in HSSE-critical activities.

•   Contribute to minimizing costs of projects without jeopardizing overall project objectives or HSSE performance. Liaise with customers to influence project design, scoping and delivery.

•   Recommend relevant geo-information types to multiple supported project team(s) and customer groups, pro-actively ensuring acceptable data quality and demonstrable business value. Promote and share the possible uses of GIS technologies with peers and customer groups, looking for improvements to benefit Geomatics and customers/projects.

•   Ensure that geo-information contained in project and company-wide data stores is high quality, accurate, current and attributed with proper metadata, published to the proper data stores and geodetically sound.

Requirements:

• Nigerian Registered Surveyor (or international equivalent professional credentials) preferred.

• Sound understanding of all of the subject matter areas, and demonstrable skills in GIM areas.

• Ability to apply practices and techniques in GIS and related technologies and/or Geomatics Operations areas such as navigation and positioning systems, data acquisition systems.

• Demonstrable knowledge and ability to recommend solutions for the hardware, software, and workflows necessary to deliver timely solutions for the business.

• Knowledge of geodetic integrity issues and ability to implement standards.

• Knowledge of common scripting languages and geo-processing libraries.

• An understanding of the E&P business and where GIS and GIM impact on business decisions.

• Post-grad qualification is preferred but not mandatory
