The 2012 edition of the Helsinki African nation cups as come to an end, with Nigeria winning the trophy.

Nigeria won the final against Gambia, after a tension soaked game. The Nigeria coaching crew and fans while under pressure throughout the game.

Nigeria dominated possession in the 1st half of the game, but failed to convert 4 glaring scoring chances. Then, in the second half, Gambia woke up, and scored twice, while Nigeria equalized.

The game was dragged into penalties. Nigeria won the game on penalties.

This time, Nigeria won, having lost in 3 final matches in previous editions.
