Division:   Network Operations

Reports To:   Manager-PS VAS

Job Summary:

Co-ordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on the smooth deployment and commissioning of new projects, execution of necessary configurations, implementation and testing for launch of services

Principal Functions:

Perform advanced troubleshooting in case of service outage

Follow up on project plan to ensure each task is completed on specified target date

Perform Acceptance Test Procedure to ensure all operation requirements for handover are met

Provide pro-active feedback to Planning team

Co-ordinate with vendors to solve escalated problems on PS VAS and Blackberry issues

Issue trouble ticket for identified software problem or bug

Ensure vendor response on problem resolution meets agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Work with vendors on patch implementation for PS VAS nodes

Provide comprehensive root cause analysis report in case of service outage on PS VAS nodes

Generate accurate departmental reports for management decision making

Perform service test on daily basis for quality assurance purpose

Perform preventive maintenance on PS VAS nodes on daily basis

Perform other duties assigned by the Manager-PS VAS

Educational Requirements:

First degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or any other relevant discipline

Relevant professional qualifications/ certifications will provide an advantage

Experience & Skills:

At least two (2) years' directly relevant post-NYSC work experience

Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:

•   Strong background in UNIX/ LINUX

•   Good knowledge in Rational Database Management Systems such as Oracle, DB2 and MySQL

•   Good understanding of VAS calls flows and connectivity with external networks

•   Hands-on experience in handling multimedia solutions like SMSC, MMSC, Data Charging Nodes, WAP Gateway, Download and Streaming solutions

•   Good knowledge of GPRS protocols

•   Good knowledge of AAA

•   Good knowledge of IP based routing

•   Excellent communication skills
