Eligibility:

The only prerequisites are that the successful candidate must have secured a place on the relevant course and that the dissertation topic is one which is relevant to Renewable World's programme work, providing beneficial learning to the organisation. For this reason the dissertation topic must be agreed in advance with Renewable World. It is expected that the student is likely to travel to one of Renewable World's programme regions to collect field data as part of their dissertation, and part of the bursary will contribute towards the cost of this travel. Completing what is sure to be a cutting-edge dissertation topic as part of your Masters qualification could help the beginning of a future career in the field of climate change and development.

Scholarship Description: The Crown Estate and E.ON are development partners for the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm project off the Susintercourse coast. Together, they wish to support an exceptional graduate to study for a Climate Change & Development or Energy Policy for Sustainability Masters degree in the academic year 2012-13. This offer is made in conjunction with the Brighton-based charity, Renewable World. Renewable World is an international NGO, working in South Asia, Central America and East Africa to tackle poverty through the provision of affordable renewable energy in remote, off-grid settings. The organisation focuses on working with the 'poorest of the poor', i.e. with communities who presently cannot afford or are not serviced by private energy providers and for whom lack of energy is a serious impediment to economic and social development.
