Responsibilities:

• Responsible  for completing complex welding assignments within defined procedures.  Has advanced proficiency in pipe or vessel welding. 
• Completes welding as assigned with a limited degree of supervision.
• Welds  different size pipes. 6G incline, positioned, roll out on Heli-Arc/ TIG  Most common equipment: Pipes, Vessels, Skid Packages, Compressors Units  Will weld using Heli-Arc-TIG, MIG, Flux-Core, Sub Arc.
• Fits and welds pipe on pin wheel
• Interprets radiographic x-ray films
• May layout and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies using rule, square, scribe, or templates
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
• Operates cutting equipment
• Works well with other departments on location of tie-in points for instrument and auxiliary pipe
• Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum qualification is Vocational
• Required experience 3 – 5 years
• Must have own welding hood, chipping hammer, and wire cutting pliers
• Read, write, speak and understand basic English
• Welding school or on the job training
• Certification to weld on pipe or plate
• 6g Certification will be an advantage
• Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials
