Job Purpose:

•   Provide management of Person to Person (P2P) SMS and Bulk SMS.

•   This includes developing propositions to drive SMS usage and revenue.

•   Monitor the overall usage of SMS (on-net, off-net and international).

•   Overall ownership of all SMS related items including SMS platform issues and monitoring; SMS Packs and special SMS offerings.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(Expected End Results and Major Activities)

Stimulate P2P SMS Revenue & Usage:   

• Monitor & track all SMS P2P revenues

• Develop, monitor & track special SMS products

• Segment and target subscriber base according to actual and potential SMS usage

• Review and monitor usage of SMS as a subscriber stimulant in all areas of the business especially by Usage & Retention (U& R) and Customer Service Delivery (CSD).

Reporting:

• Ensure best case day-minus-one reporting for SMS revenue, usage

• Work to deliver detailed monthly reports as against AOP and monthly projections (stretch targets)

• Reporting and cascade SMSC platform reports

Communicating & Promoting SMS services:    

• Work with other VAS verticals to determine communications strategy for SMS and SMS Services

Market & develop Bulk SMS:    

• Establish Bulk SMS as product offering targeting bulk SMS wholesalers for use in the Nigerian market

• Develop and maintain policies & procedures of Bulk SMS for Airtel Nigeria

• Work with established Bulk SMS aggregator(s)

• Identify customers for Bulk SMS and

• Develop & manage strategy around bulk SMS

DIMENSIONS

• Financial Monitoring SMS & Bulk SMS revenue and usage on a day-to-day basis to deliver on the stated targets.

Other Dimensions

• Share a daily report on SMS & Bulk SMS revenue and usage

• Prepare a weekly report on SMS & Bulk SMS usage and revenue to be shared with CMO and COO

• Manage Bulk SMS partners and report on their activities on a weekly basis.
