Eligibility:Academic Criteria:

-A minimum of 65% aggregate for the undergraduate or Honours degree. This will need to be shown via certified copies of the Applicant's academic transcripts.

Financial Need Criteria: Financial Need must be illustrated as follows:

-Income:  A full declaration of all income expected in 2013 from all sources must be recorded in the space provided on the required Application Form.

-Certified or original copies of the applicant's bank statements for July and August  2012 must be attached.

-Students registering for degrees in disciplines in Religious Studies and Political Studies are not Eligible in terms of the conditions made by the Foundation.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: A limited number of Fellowships, available to South African students for full-time study in research-related degrees at the University of Cape Town. The Fellowships will be granted on the basis of academic merit and financial need, to students proceeding to the Honours, Master's and Doctoral degrees; and who will register in 2013 at the University of Cape Town for the first year of their intended degree. Students who are employed full time or who will register for the 4 th year of undergraduate degrees, Certificates, Diplomas, the LLB, BArch or HDE are not eligible.

Value of Awards : Honours Fellowships: Strictly one year – R75,000.

Master's Fellowships: 1st year Masters – R80,000. The award is renewable for 1 year on proof of satisfactory progress and availability of funds. However, renewal of the fellowship is not guaranteed.

Doctoral Fellowships: Doctoral Fellowships are valued at R90,000 per annum. The award is renewable for a 2nd and 3rd year on proof of satisfactory progress and availability of funds.
