Voices for Change (V4C) Empowering adolescent girls and women is a new programme funded by the United Kingdom government's Department for International Development (DFID) and managed by GRM International. The programme will focus on strengthening the enabling environment in support of adolescent girls and women's development.

In particular, it will:

•   challenge discrimination against girls and women;

•   build effective legal frameworks to protect girls and women's rights;

•   increase the status given to girls and women by society and men and boys;

•   increase the power of girls and women to make informed choices and control decisions that affect them;

•   enable women's participation in politics;

•   and sustain political commitment to services and opportunities for girls and women.

V4C commenced operations at the end of July 2012 and we are now looking for a FINANCE ASSISTANTto join the V4C Abuja team. Responsibilities include assisting the Finance & Administration Manage in:

•   bookkeeping (general ledger) and cashier roles;

•   assist in financial management;

•   support the preparation of monthly financial statements;

•   support the finance & admin manager in coordinating the annual audit;

•   maintain asset register and schedule of office supplies;

•   and other duty assigned by the finance & admin manager.

Monthly remuneration: Maximum of NGN200,000 + Other benefits.

The Job requirements are as follows:

•   University degree, preferably in accountancy or finance background;

•   Minimum 2 years post NYSC experience in finance for international organisations (donor funded);

•   Proactive approach and the ability to think "outside the box" when developing solutions and strategies; independent, self-driven and able to handle multi-tasks with detail mind to work to meet strict deadlines;

•   Team player who requires minimum supervision; able to communicate with staff of all levels and cultural backgrounds, strong analytical and negotiation skills;

•   Political, legal, security and cultural awareness from working experience in Nigeria;

•   Good command of written and spoken English;

•   Computer literate.
