Blues looking to end Morrison loan

Birmingham manager Lee Clark is unlikely to succeed in his attempt to terminate Ravel Morrison's loan from West Ham United - potentially leaving the teenager in limbo at St Andrew's for the rest of the season.

Clark first raised the subject of ending the 12-month loan three weeks ago because he is having difficulties integrating Morrison, 19, into his struggling Championship side.

Morrison, once of Manchester United, is understood to have agreed to take a significant pay reduction on his West Ham contract to move to Birmingham in the summer, and all three parties would have to agree to an early termination of the loan agreement.

No agreement can be struck until the transfer window opens in January and, although Morrison's representatives would look at the possibility of severing all ties, any exit would hinge on the player finding another Championship club on loan for the remainder of the season - his fourth club in just over a year.

West Ham are reluctant to take him back and to recommence paying the original terms of the three-year contract he signed in January because Sam Allardyce does not feel he is ready to cope with the demands of Premier League football.

Several Championship clubs, including Crystal Palace and Bolton, were interested in taking Morrison on loan in the summer before he opted for Birmingham.

I also believe the termination might be possible.
