Relocation Of Abuja Indigenes To Cost N145Bn -FCT Minister

Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),  SenatorBala Mohammed, has said the federal government needs N145 billion to relocate the original settlers in the nation's capital.
He told newsmen at the ongoing US-NigeriaInfrastructure Conference in Washington DCyesterday that the fund was needed to defray the cost of entitlements of the original settlers, who were displaced by development projects in the FCT.
The minister lamented that government's efforts were sometimes frustrated by residents, who failed to adjust to reality when development projects spring up in their area, adding that government would continue to consult with community leadersand interest groups to achieve adequate and fair resettlement of displaced natives.
Also, Minister of Works, Mr.  Mike Onolememen, said that Nigeria would be among the first 20 economies in the world with the current level of infrastructure, adding that the federal government is readyto partner with genuine investors in critical sectors of the economy.
The minister told newsmen that the Vision 20:2020 and the Transformation Agenda ofPresident Goodluck Jonathan offer investors huge opportunities to invest in the country.
