ABEOKUTA — The Ogun State Police Command yesterday, debunked media report that some banks in Ijebu -Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State have closed for fear of robbery attacks.

The Command also denied that the newly acquired Armoured Personnel Carriers, APCs, have been grounded.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the report is a misrepresentation of the whole scenario on ground.

"The banks on Monday only acted on a rumour that the brand new APCs in Ijebu were faulty, thus, there was a threat of robbery attack, which did not go down well with the Command."

Speaking further, he urged members of the public to disregard the rumour and go about their lawful businesses, saying the command is adequately prepared to provide security during this ember month period.
