Arsenal striker Gervinho has insisted he is
enjoying his role as a central striker, despite
coming under a barrage of criticism following
his lacklustre display in the Champions League
defeat against Schalke on Wednesday night.

Manager Arsene Wenger believes Gervinho can
follow in Thierry Henry's footsteps by stepping
away from his role as a winger and making his
mark at the spearhead of his new look Gunners
side and the Ivorian is keen to make the most of
his opportunity.

"In the middle, it gives you lots of options," he
told the Official Arsenal Magazine. "You can
make a run on the right, on the left, deep in the
centre. It's a big advantage. I feel good there and
I am working hard to improve in that position. I
don't have the physical ability to play in the air
or to hold the ball up so I am learning how I
can make the best of my qualities for that
position.
