Long injury concern for West Brom

Shane Long is at the centre of an injury worry after Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni let slip news of a problem the West Bromwich Albion striker picked up in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United.
                                                          Long was angered in August when he was omitted from the 0-0 friendly draw in Serbia amid a misunderstanding over his fitness. He claimed he was ready to start and was dismayed the Ireland management declared that he was unfit to do so.
                                                           Now Trapattoni has revealed that Long is struggling to play in the friendly with Greece in the middle of this month and prompted Albion to disclose the news that he has been sent for a scan.
