Hamas targets Tel Aviv after Israel flattens buildings

NBC's Ayman Mohyeldin reports from Gaza City, where the streets remain empty as Palestinians brace themselves for overnight airstrikes as part of Israel's intense aerial campaign. Police said it was destroyed in mid-air by an Iron Dome  anti-missile battery deployed hours earlier, and no one was injured.

And in the Israeli Mediterranean port of Ashdod, a rocket ripped into several balconies. Police said five people were hurt.

In Gaza earlier, Israeli planes shattered Haniyeh's office building -- where he had met with Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil the day before -- and struck the interior ministry.
