West Brom midfielder Gera out for season with knee injury

West Browich Albion midfielder Zoltan Gera will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his cruciate ligaments, the English Premier League club said on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old is ready to undergo surgery on his left knee next week after suffering the injury in the 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

Gera suffered a similar injury in November 2011 and is now set to move out of action for between six and nine months.

'' I'm devastated for Zoltan '', West Brom manager Steve Clarke said on the club website.

'' He's a terrific guy and professional and I want to thank him for his contribution this season. It has been invaluable ''.

I hope he gets back to the squad soon enough cos west brom is not looking comfortable at all
