Nigeria and Cape verde Island battled out to a standstill in a pre-AFCON friendly game at the Estadio Do Algrave in Faro, Portugal on Wednesday.
.
Cape Verde Island started stronger as Nigeria's goalkeeper, Austin Ejide was forced to save two quick goal-bound efforts inside the opening ten minutes.
.
First, Augusto Heldon Ramos stung Ejide's palms from long range before the Nigerian keeper made a point-blank save to deny Julio Tavares.
.
Nigeria's Super Eagles looked flat-footed throughout the opening 45 minutes with a struggling midfield and punctured full-backs but came back a little bit stronger in the second half.
.
The game, Nigeria's first against an African side since qualifying for the African Cup of Nations, fizzled out to a goaless draw.
