President Jonathan: I have no Foreign Accounts

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan Thursday said has no accounts or property abroad.


3rd R: President Jonathan being received by Deputy Commandant, Nigeria Security Civl Defence Corps (NSCDC) B. O. Wasiri and others on his arrival at the Presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos Thursday.

He said contrary to claims by his political opponents, he was loyal to the late President Umaru Yar'Adua till the end.

Jonathan, who spoke in a message posted on Facebook, said he is also loyal to the nation's economy.

He urged his opponents to campaigns of calumny.

The president said: "I was loyal to my leader, the late President Umaru Yar'Adua.

"I am loyal to Nigeria , I don't claim to represent North, South or a Committee, I represent Nigeria .

"I am loyal to Nigeria 's economy, I don't have accounts or property abroad,

"All my children live and school in Nigeria . I am loyal to my wife and friends. Can those who accuse me say the same?

"Dear friends, you may have read in the papers some persons virulent attacks on my person, calling me a disloyal person.

"I urge you to objectively look at my past and the past of those making these allegations, and let your conscience guide you."

He said Nigerians should look ethnicity in their quest to make Nigeria great.

Jonathan said: "The only difference we need to make in Nigeria is between good and bad not North and South.

"Nigerians, as you notice an upswing in political activities, I assure you that not only will I focus on my sworn commitment of providing good leadership, I will also run and encourage others to run a national campaign devoid of sectionalism because leaders ought to unite and not divide."
