Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi has explained why he left out Chelsea stricker, Victor Moses in his team's opening game at the AFCON against Burkina Faso on Monday.
.
Keshi's men failed to hold on to a one-goal lead scored by Emmanuel Emenike as Alain Traore scored for Burkina Faso's Stallions with the last kick of the game at Mbombela stadium in Nelspruit.
.
But Keshi opened up that the former Crystal Palace man was still nursing a knock from their pre-Afcon training camp in Faro, Portugal.
.
The Nigerian manager explained that he does not want to take a 'gamble' on the stricker.
.
'' The last practice game we had in Faro, Moses had a little bit of hamstring. We had to put him on scrutiny. Since we came here he looked a bit off. I don't want to gamble on him in a game and then take him off within minutes as that will make me look stupid '' said Keshi.
