News Flash - SSS arrests ex-police officer over Nkeiruka Sylvanus kidnap

THE State Security Service (SSS) has confirmed the arrest of a former police deserter, Ndidi Nwokoma Cletus, for allegedly leading the gang that kidnapped popular Nollywood actress and Senior Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor, Nkeiruka Sylvanus.

The SSS disclosed that N3.4 million was recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest. Specifically, Sylvanus was kidnapped alongside Uche and Kenneth Okolie on December 15, 2012, at about 7:30p.m at Nworie Street, Akanchawa Roundabout in Owerri, Imo State, by three gunmen.

The victims were kept in a bush around Avu junction for six days and were released after a ransom of N8 million was paid on December 21, 2012.
