Role Summary/Purpose:   

Essential Responsibilities:   Reporting to the VAT/GST Operations Manager for Sub-Sahara: – Oversee the VAT/GST controllership support provided to businesses in West Africa – Deliver VAT/GST reporting and related services to GE businesses – Ensure that all VAT/GST returns and associated statistical filings for client businesses are filed and paid on time – Complete a program of risk-based reviews of business VAT/GST returns and associated processes to ensure accuracy of filings – Analysis of VAT/GST documents for accuracy using thorough and in-depth knowledge of VAT/GST regulations – Provide support during inspections and queries from local tax authorities – Communicate with business unit , tax leaders and other sub-contracted support functions – Drive standardization, automation and process improvements to ensure VAT/GST compliance – Work with tax, finance and other sub-contracted support functions to document and support all significant VAT/GST reporting – Support development and recommendation of VAT/GST operational processes and internal policies – Training of finance, business and other sub-contracted support functions on the use of the GE on-line VAT/GST return tool – Fee and SLA agreement with all client businesses and management of finances including budgets and cost liquidations

Qualifications/Requirements:    – Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. – Minimum 5 years of VAT or finance experience. – Demonstrated strong communication skills including English – Ability to work cross-functionally. – Proficient use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
