I was not at my best at AFCON - Ahmed Musa

CSKA Moscow star,Ahmed Musa has admitted he was not at his best during the last AFCON in South Africa which Nigeria won by beating Burkina Faso in the final.

The speedy winger cum striker was in killer form before the championships but failed to re-ignite the form during the championships.

Asked by mtnfootball reporter why he failed to fulfil expectations as one of the players that the coaches would look up to change the team's fortune if they weren't going as planned,Musa replied thus:That is football for you. It is up and down. I did my best though, but I am looking forward to a better display at the World Cup. Confederations Cup is our next competition and winning the trophy is also the target.

Musa also has his eyes on the 2014 World Cup,also in Brazil.

''My target is to go to the World Cup next year and perform far batter there''.The former Kano Pillars star however revealed the match against Ethiopia posed a much tougher challenge for the Eagles than Cote d'Ivoire at the championships.

''Ethiopia were our toughest opponents. That match was tougher than the one against Cote d'Ivoire and even the final''.

l like the fact that Ahmed Musa publicly acknowledged his flaws at AFCON 2013. Hopefully, he would do better in 2015, if he is included in squad.
