Department Description

The Pre-Sales team is made up of industry and solution experts which works closely with the RGBU License sales team to support the sale of RGBU solutions across EMEA.The Pre-Sales Team position, present and demo the value, capabilities and features of RGBU solutions to retailers in the context of industry trends and best practises, addressing the retailer's specific business issues and in a compelling way. The team supports the license sales cycle from beginning to end by providing deep functional and technical knowldge of the RGBU solutions

Brief Description

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

Detailed Description

As a TL Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Leads and acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Job Requirements

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Be an acknowledged expert in either fashion planning (merchandise and assortment planning) or category management with ability to present industry trends and best practices as well as present and demo product features and value in a compelling way

•   Support the sales process and ability to lead all functional aspects as a solution expert

•   Ability to convince others (often at a senior level) through presentations, relationship building, demonstrations and written communication  translating our customer´s business needs into Oracle solutions

•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills in responding to RFIs, RFPs, needs analysis, positioning, etc.

•   Be able to articulate how Oracle Retail solutions fit into the wider Oracle offering for Retailers

•   Communicate Oracle's values proposition and deliver outstanding product presentations and demonstrations to prospects, customers, partners and the market

•   Present and demonstrate Oracle solutions to customers, prospects and  partners at meetings seminars and events

•    ability to solve difficult problems with accounts, in complex sales environments

•   Develop and manage reference sites through high quality professional client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor for prospects and customers and developing new opportunities in the customer base

•   Ability to work on  large or complex sales opportunities requiring creative and complex solutions

•   Maintain in depth and up to date knowledge of competitors

•   Strong team spirit, willing to work in – often virtual – teams

•   Actively participating in organizational skill exchanges and transfers expertise to others

•   Demonstrate outstanding Corporate Citizenship by working across lines of business within Oracle.

Candidate Profile – Essential

•   3 + years experience working in planning, merchandising or category management positions in  big name retailers

•   7 + years experience working with technology solutions in the  planning and optimisation arena in either pre-sales or business consulting for either a software vendor or implementation partner

•   Experience working with  planning and optimisation products and solutions

•   Experience positioning planning and optimisation solutions with prospects and customers

•   Experience interpreting client requirements and mapping Oracle solutions to the requirements

•   Outstanding interpersonal skills, and professionalism

•   Experience with requirements definition and/or business process definition required.

•   Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills

•   Experience presenting to senior and c-level retail executives

•   Proven teamworker

•   Strong client negotiation and demonstrated consulting skills.

•   Flexible & easily adapts to change.

•   Strong network building skills internally and externally

•   Demonstrated time management skills.

Candidate Profile – Advantageous

•   Experience with Oracle Retail Planning and Optimisation Products – including RPAS Platform, MFP,CM, AP,IP, MDO, SPO,RPO

•   Hands on experience with planning and supply chain solutions in a retail business

•   Experience configuring RPAS or comparable competitive solutions

•   Additional languages ideally with business context

Amount of Travel: 50%-75%
