The management of Dutch side ADO Den Haag are desperate to keep Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, for one more season after watching his development since joining the modest side on-loan last summer from his parent club Chelsea.
.
The deal which the former Nigerian youth international signed with ADO will expire at the end of the current season but after excelling in the colours of the club and coupled with his superlative displays at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations where he helped the Super Eagles to their third-ever title in the history of the tournament, he seems to be set for a return to the Stamford Bridge to fight for place in the star-studded side for the 2013/2014 season.
.
ADO Den Haag coach Maurice Steijn spoke on the feat achieved by the player at the Nations Cup, while expressing hope that the need to play regular football may sway the interest of the player in their favour next season.
.
"This is great advertising for the club. It's not all the time that a young player like that goes to the big tournament like Africa Cup of Nations and deliver," Steijn said.
.
"Chelsea is a big club and they are always aiming to win trophies and so it's natural to be desperate to play there. But I am still hopeful that we can have him with us again next season."
