The national beach soccer team coach, Audu Adamu, has said that his players will qualify for the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti.
.
The Africa region qualifiers will hold from April 10 to 14 in Casablanca, Morocco, while the World Cup takes place between September 18 and September 28 in Papeete, Tahiti.
.
Adamu told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Lagos that 18 players had been invited to commence open camping in Badagry, Lagos State, on March 10 in preparation for the qualifiers.
.
He said "We are planning to enter camp on Saturday or on Sunday in Badagry which is our traditional ground, and we have called 18 players for the World Cup qualifiers.
.
"We will ensure that we surpass our previous achievement when we qualified and reached the quarter-finals of the 2011 World Cup. We are determined and the players are in good shape."
.
He said the team would not rely on its success at the 2012 COPA Lagos Beach Soccer when it begins its campaign and would not underrate any team.
.
"We will not underrate any country because before we qualified for the last World Cup, Madagascar almost knocked us out and it was their first time in the tournament.
.
"So, it will be to our peril if we decide to rely on our performance in COPA Lagos as champions of Africa, we intend to give our best," Adamu said.
