Nigerians waiting for govt to take them to promised land - Anenih to PDP govs

CHAIRMAN, Board of Trustees, BoT, of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, yesterday, reminded governors elected on the platform of the party that there was the urgent need to expedite action on development as Nigerians were anxiously waiting to be taken to the promised land by them.

He also called for complete loyalty, sincerity from members of the party as well ensure that there was an atmosphere of peace, if development and growth must be guaranteed in all ramifications.
.
According to Anenih, the challenges ahead are enormous and it has become imperative for all governments at national, state and local levels to rise and achieve success in their endeavours Speaking yesterday at the meeting of PDP Governors' Forum which started on Monday and ended in the early hours of yesterday at Akwa Ibom State Governor's Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja,  Chief Anenih also called on the state governors to effectively and efficiently utilise their security votes towards gathering intelligence reports and information, geared towards addressing the security challenges in the country.

Anenih declared that those who constituted security threats in the country lived among the people, adding that with proper intelligence gathering, their activities would be nipped in the bud.

He added that the responsibility of providing security should not be left in the hands of the Federal Government alone, but stressed that governors, political office holders and even traders and every Nigerian had a key role to play.

"All of you are the chief security officers of your states, the national government, the Federal Government alone cannot give all Nigerians security, everybody, every Nigerian must be involved.
.
"Again I wish you all well and I came to congratulate my son (Gov. Akpabio)here and I have no doubt that with the formation of the PDP Governors Forum we would be able to discuss issues freely in the interest of the Nigerians.

Chief Anenih was accompanied to the meeting by the Secretary, BoT, Senator Walid Jubrin; former Senate President Ken Nnamani and former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo.
