Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars have become the new leaders in the Professional Football League following their 1-0 win over Bayelsa United on Wednesday.
.
The result means Kano Pillars maintain a 100 percent start to this season's campaign.
.
Apart from the Kano Pillars versus Bayelsa United game, three other Week 2 matches took place in Gombe, Ilorin and Maiduguri.
.
El-Kanemi Warriors and Wikki Tourists fired blank in Maiduguri under tight security in the day's early kickoff which began from 3pm local time.
.
The champions without influential striker, Gambo Mohammed and midfielder Gabriel Reuben, both on international duty with Nigeria, struggled to break Bayelsa United managed by ex-Kano Pillars coach, Ladan Bosso.
.
While Pillars found no joy against Bayelsa United in the opening half, Gombe United recorded the first goal in the four games on the day.
.
Impressive midfielder, Austin Ekpoma put Gombe United in front on 27 minutes against ABS.
.
At the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin, Supersand Eagles forward, Abu Azeez, struck sweetly via a Kabiru Sanusi assist to make amends for his first half miss as Kwara United went a goal up against Sunshine Stars.
.
It was the game in Ilorin that produced the next goal.
.
Josiah Christian's thumping header from a corner kick ensured that Sunshine Stars drew level.
.
Back in Kano where the fans were becoming restless as they had expected a rout, petite striker Bello Musa Kofarmata popped up to score the winner with 11 minutes left to play.

Well it is not the team that top now that will be successful at the end, there is still a very long way to go in the league.
