Andrew Abalogu Still Out Of Form

Enyimba attacking winger, Andrew Abalogu has declared that he is yet to get into full swing this term in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Last season, Abalogu, 20, produced some breath- taking performances for ABS by scoring nine goals and deservedly won the League Bloggers Awards (LBA) Rookie of the Year.

But the former Abia Warriors' man has admitted that he is no where close to his form of last season yet since joining the six-time Nigerian champions in the off-season despite being named man-of-the-match in his team's 1-0 home win last week against Nasarawa United.

Abalogu also restated his ambition to win trophies with Enyimba.

"I am surprised I am the man of the match (against Nasarawa United). As our first home league match of the season, we needed to win and I thank God we did so. I tried to do my part in helping my club win so this man-of-the-match award is another joy for me.

Football is a team game so I dedicate this to all of my team mates.

"Like I have always said, I joined Enyimba to win trophies. I'm a young player and a club like Enyimba is what I need to improve my career. Whatever I'll do on the pitch to bring victory for the club, I'll do.

"But right now, I'm not playing at my full peak. My best is yet to come but I believe that as we play more matches together, I'll do more than I'm doing now. I scored nine goals for ABS last season and I hope to score more than that here.

"We are going to take it one match a time and make sure we do well throughout the season. For me, I want to make sure I contribute my very best at all times. My confidence is high and certainly my best will come," Abalogu told Enyimba's official website. Abalogu, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, is available for selection as Enyimba face El-Kanemi Warriors in Aba on Sunday.

Well let us just pray he regains for as soon as possible cause he is a needed footballer anytime anyday. I trust those in charge to work on it
