• NOAA's recent "Seasonal Outlook" report predicts a spring full of droughts and floods in the U.S., Climate Central reported.
• Punxsutawney Phil was "indicted" for giving a bad prediction about an early spring and sentenced to death (but not really).
• Debris patterns may help researchers develop better early warning systems for tornadoes, according to a new study published by the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.
• The Canadian Space Agency released some incredible photos of the aurora borealis as the viewing season comes to a close.
• In anticipation of another year of drought, a group of Kansans have decided to take it upon themselves and ration water to save their aquifer, without any government intervention.
• A study released in the journal Science said that a mass extinction event 200 million years ago was caused by CO2 released during a series of massive volcanic eruptions.
