Nigeria Sports: Showemimo, Sheriff predict tough time for Plateau United

KANO Pillars duo of Isa Sheriff and Abdulwasiu Showemimo have hinted NationSport that all three points in today's NPL Week 8 cracker with Plateau United would be the best tonic to show their instant recovery from their 2-0 capitulation at Owerri against Heartland FC last weekend.

Isa Sheriff a product of the Korea 2007 Golden Eaglets of Nigeria that won the country its third World Under 17 title under the tutelage of late Yemi Tella said it was painful they lost the match owing to their inability to equal their first half performance but disclosed that all points against Plateau United would serve as a respite.

"We are not happy that we lost in Owerri but we hope to stage a comeback with a big win in our match against Plateau United. We want to win it for our fans."

Adding to the optimism expressed by his fellow colleague, Abdulwasiu Showemimo who distinguished self in their defeat to Heartland, said in a chat that Plateau United would fall easy prey at the Sani Abacha stadium, Kano while appealing to the club's fans to come all out and support their darling team.

He beckoned on the vociferous fans to always comport themselves well in their home matches so that they don't incur the wrath of the NPL whom he said have made the league have better followership and coverage this season.

It happens that way once in a while. We lost to momentary loss of concentration but Plateau will come and receive the dosage of our treatment. We hope to bath them with goals.

"I appeal to our fans to ensure that they always comport themselves well when we are playing in Kano. NPL is doing a lot to sanitize the league and will not condone any act that might jeopardize the smooth running of the league including crowd hooliganism." Showemimo who once starred for Indomie United averred to NationSport.
