Job Title: Internal Auditor 1

Responsibilities will include; preparation of audit programs, implementation of approved audit programs,  maintenance of professional AWP on audit jobs, presentation of value added audit reports, follow up of recommendations, performing relevant investigations as directed or necessary and other related duties as professionally required and directed by the HIA.

In addition the successful candidate will:

• Prepare value added audit reports devoid of error within approved time limits.

• Prepare and maintain detailed and properly cross-referenced audit working paper files on all audit assignments.

• Conduct audit assignments professionally and in line with approved audit plan and programs.

• Prepare and present audit programs on audits to be performed.

• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation and compliance with management policies and directives.

• Ensure audit assignments are executed in line with audit objectives and approved strategies

• Act as adviser on internal control issues to departments/units and staff.

• Presenting identified control lapses within the system for prompt attention.

• Manage specific audits and lead other staff during combined audits jobs.

• Provide useful inputs to audit plans

The ideal candidate:

• Must have current professional experience on the principles and practices of auditing including basic auditing planning and preparation of audit programs.

• Basic auditing skills and capability to organize assigned jobs to achieve audit goals within approved deadlines.

• Educational qualification: BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business administration or any other related field.

• Must have Professional Qualifications such as; ACA, ACCA, CISA

• Should have a minimum auditing experience not less than (5) five years, two of which must be in an audit firm.

• Must be professional and dedication to work ethics; going the extra mile to perform audit within budgeted time.  

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

• Self-starter with personal drive and desire to perform

• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate with various departments.

• Thoroughly experienced in professional code of ethics

• Good knowledge of International Auditing standards and IFRS.

• Possess exceptional written and oral communications and presentation skills as well team spirit.

• Knowledge and experience in IT, basic MIS and accounting packages.
