Flying Eagles assistant captain Chidi Osuchukwu has hailed the quality of the Egyptian U-20 team that defeated Nigeria 2-0 to reach the final of the CAF U-20 Africa Youth Championship in Algeria.
.
John Obuh's boys were on the backfoot for most part of the game and Osuchukwu said from Oran that the young Pharoahs are good enough for the title which the Nigerians won two years ago in South Africa.
.
"The Egyptians were better in the semi-finals and deserve to play in the final. It was disappoinitng that we lost to them because we wanted to defend our title.
.
"Most people might think that qualifying for the World Cup was all that matter to us but we also wanted to win this Championship. Unfortunately that didn't happen but we have learned our lessons and will improve for the World Cup.
.
"The Egyptian side was a different side from the one we beat in the friendly in Egypt. They are much better and I think they can go all the way and win.
.
Yes, they changed their team," the Dolphins midfielder said.
.
The Flying Eagles will play the third-place game against Mali on Friday.

They've qualified already by reaching the semifinals. Let them just win the bronze medal to compensate themeselves.
