Jude Aneke Wants Super Eagles Return

Al Masry forward, Jude Aneke is keen to earn a recall to the Nigerian national team following his good form in the Egyptian Premier League.

Aneke, who attained legendary status in November 2011, after he broke the one-year-old record of Ahmed Musa by scoring 20 goals in the Nigerian top flight, was subsequently called up to the Super Eagles squad as a late replacement for Peter Odemwingie a month later.

The 22-year-old has yet to add to his solitary cap but is keen for a recall from current coach, Stephen Keshi who continues his project with the African champions.

"It is the dream of every player to don the colours of his country and I am no exception. It was a dream to have played for my country in that friendly game against Zambia in Kaduna and I will like to do it again," Aneke said.

Blessed with intelligence and a great turn of pace, Aneke terrorised defences during his time in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) where he played for Kaduna United and Warri Wolves between 2010 and 2012.

He is now looking to announce his presence in the Arab nation after a slow start occasioned by a toe injury.

"I had a toe injury and missed the first four games of the season. However, I have played the last three games and I scored for my club in our game against Ismaily on February 15. I know I will score more goals this season because I have been improving with each passing game," he added.

The forward concluded by praising current Nigeria coach, Keshi for leading the Super Eagles to glory at the 2013 Afcon.

"Very few people gave him and the national team a chance but he proved he is a man that understands the game.

"I saw these qualities when I played under him in that game against Zambia. He praised me after that match and said I did well despite coming on as a substitute.

"I was also told he referred to me as a striker with the qualities of the late Rashidi Yekini and I hope to get another chance to prove him right," stated Aneke, who is on loan to El-Dakhleya from Al Masry.
